Visiting Card Design Trends for 2025
What's actually printing well this year in India — the layouts, paper stocks and finishes we're running most often on our press, and how to specify them so the file survives the cutter.

1. Minimal, type-led layouts
The dominant look for 2025 is one strong typeface, a single accent colour and a lot of empty space. Name and role get the visual weight; phone, email and handle drop to a smaller, quieter tier. Gradients and stock-photo backgrounds are out — they muddy at 300 DPI and fight with the paper texture.
- Body text no smaller than 7 pt so it stays legible in print.
- Two type sizes and one weight contrast is usually enough.
- Leave one side almost empty — blank space reads as confidence.
2. QR codes that actually do something
Nearly every card we print in 2025 carries a QR — UPI handle, WhatsApp catalogue, Google review link or a digital vCard. The trend is placement on the reverse, printed small and clean rather than crammed next to contact details.
Keep it at least 20 mm square with a 4 mm quiet zone, dark modules on a light background. Our QR print setup guide covers the pixel maths.
3. Textured and heavier paper stocks
Touch is doing the branding work. Uncoated, cotton and linen-texture stocks are outselling gloss for the first time on our press, and the average GSM ordered keeps climbing.
4. Spot UV, foil and edge detail
Selective finishes on an otherwise plain card are the cheapest way to look expensive: spot UV gloss on the logo over a matte lamination, foil stamping in gold or copper for a monogram, or a painted edge on duplex stock. Supply the finish as a separate 100% black vector layer named SpotUV or Foil so we can pull the plate cleanly.
5. Dark and colour-through cards
Deep charcoal, forest and oxblood cards are back, usually with white or foil type. Two things to watch: rich black should be built as C60 M40 Y40 K100, and any dark card will show handling marks unless it carries a matte lamination or is printed on colour-through stock where the core is dyed.

Frequently asked questions
What is the biggest visiting card trend in 2025?
Restrained, type-led layouts on heavier uncoated stock, with the impact coming from finish rather than artwork.
Which GSM should I choose?
300 GSM is the practical minimum, 350 GSM the comfortable standard, and 600 GSM duplex for premium cards.
Do QR codes belong on a visiting card?
Yes, when they point somewhere useful — UPI, WhatsApp catalogue or a vCard — and are printed at least 20 mm square.
We print all of the above in-house — textured stocks, spot UV, foil and colour-through cards — with pan-India delivery.
