Bleed and safe zone

A trimmed card is never cut with pixel accuracy. To avoid white slivers on the edge, background art must extend past the trim — this extension is called bleed. To avoid text being clipped, all critical content must sit inside a safe zone.

Rule of thumb: any background colour or photo touching the edge must extend to the 94 × 61 mm bleed box. Any name, phone number or logo must fit inside the 82 × 49 mm safe box.
